Clutches With Manual Engage/Disengage

This example shows engaging and disengaging of a pair of clutches, and the resulting speeds and torques. Initially, the first clutch is not engaged, and only the first inertia is accelerated by the torque source. If you double-click the switch, then the first clutch is engaged and the second inertia accelerates. Double-clicking the switch again then disconnects the driving torque and engages the second clutch, which dissipates the motion of the second inertia.
