Prelookup and Interpolation Blocks

The following examples show the benefits of using Prelookup and Interpolation Using Prelookup blocks.

ActionBenefitExample

Use an index search to relate inputs to table data, followed by an interpolation and extrapolation stage that computes outputs

Enables reuse of index search results to look up data in multiple tables, which reduces simulation time

To open the model, click sldemo_bpcheck. For details on how the model works, see the description.

Set breakpoint and table data types explicitly

Lowers memory required to store:

  • Breakpoint data that uses a smaller type than the input signal

  • Table data that uses a smaller type than the output signal

To open the model, click sldemo_interp_memory For details on how the model works, see the description.

Provides easier sharing of:

  • Breakpoint data among Prelookup blocks

  • Table data among Interpolation Using Prelookup blocks

To open the model, click fxpdemo_lookup_shared_param. For details on how the model works, see the description.

Enables reuse of utility functions in the generated code

To open the model, click fxpdemo_prelookup_utilfcn. For details on how the model works, see the description.

Set the data type for intermediate results explicitly

Enables use of higher precision for internal computations than for table data or output data

To open the model, click fxpdemo_interp_precision. For details on how the model works, see the description.
