By turning on active state output, the state activity is made available through an output data port to Simulink®. This data signal can be:
Viewed using a scope.
Logged for diagnostics.
Used to drive another subsystem.
Using active state output can simplify the design in some Stateflow® charts. You do not have to explicitly update data used to track state activity. For an example, see Use Active State Output.

Note: When active state output is turned on in Stateflow, logging through Stateflow is not available. Log the signals in Simulink instead.
