When to Use Active State Output

By turning on active state output, the state activity is made available through an output data port to Simulink®. This data signal can be:

  • Viewed using a scope.

  • Logged for diagnostics.

  • Used to drive another subsystem.

Using active state output can simplify the design in some Stateflow® charts. You do not have to explicitly update data used to track state activity. For an example, see .

For more information about logging the chart or state activity data in Simulink , see Signal Logging.

Note:   When active state output is turned on in Stateflow, logging through Stateflow is not available. Log the signals in Simulink instead.
