When to Use Active State Output Data

By enabling active state data as an output, the data is made available through an output data port to Simulink®. This data signal can be:

  • Viewed using a scope.

  • Logged for diagnostics.

  • Used to drive another subsystem.

Using active state data output can simplify the design in some Stateflow® charts. You do not have to explicitly update data used to track state activity. For an example, see Use Active State Output Data.

For more information about logging the chart or active state data in Simulink, see Export Signal Data Using Signal Logging.

Note:   When output is turned on in Stateflow, logging through Stateflow is not available. Log the signals in Simulink instead.
