To use the same configuration for a model and all of its referenced models, use configuration references in each of the models to reference the same configuration set object in the base workspace.

In the diagram, each model in the Model Dependency Viewer specifies the configuration reference, my_configuration, as its active configuration set. my_configuration points to the freestanding configuration set, Configuration. The parameter values in Configuration therefore apply to all four models. Any parameter change in Configuration applies to all four models. To do share a configuration set across referenced model:
Open the Model Explorer.
In the Model Hierarchy pane, select Base Workspace and from the Add menu, select Configuration. A configuration set object is created in the base workspace.
In the Model Hierarchy pane, right-click the top model and select Add > Configuration Reference. The Create Configuration Reference dialog box opens.
Specify the Configuration set name of the configuration set object in the base workspace to be referenced. Click OK. You now have a configuration reference in your top model.
In the Model Hierarchy pane, right-click the configuration reference node and select Activate. The configuration reference is now the active configuration.
Under the top model node, right-click the active configuration reference node, and select Propagate to Referenced Models. The Propagate to Referenced Models dialog box opens.
Click OK. This action creates a copy of the configuration reference in each referenced model. The configuration references are already specified to point to the same configuration set object in the base workspace and are marked active.
