Use signal logging to capture signal data from a simulation. To enable signal logging, set the signal logging property for individual signals and enable signal logging for a model. For details, see Configuring a Signal for Signal Logging and Enabling Signal Logging for a Model.
For a summary of other approaches to capture signal data, see Exporting Simulation Data.
Signal logging involves this general workflow:
Configure individual signals for signal logging, including controlling how much output the simulation generates. See Configuring a Signal for Signal Logging.
(Optional) Review the signal logging configuration for a model. See Viewing the Signal Logging Configuration.
Enable signal logging globally for a model. See Enabling Signal Logging for a Model.
Specify the format for the logged signal data. See Specifying the Signal Logging Data Format.
(Optional) Specify a name for the signal logging data. See Specifying a Logging Name.
(Optional) Specify which samples to export for models with variable-step solvers. See Limiting the Data Logged for a Signal.
(Optional) Configure the model to display signal logging data in the Simulation Data Inspector. See Viewing Logged Signal Data with the Simulation Data Inspector.
(Optional) Override the signal logging property settings in the model or referenced models. See Overriding Signal Logging Settings.
Simulate the model.
Access the signal logging data. See Accessing Signal Logging Data.
Rapid Accelerator mode does not support signal logging. For more information, see Behavior of Scopes and Viewers with Rapid Accelerator Mode.
Top-model software-in-the-loop (SIL) and processor-in-the-loop (PIL) simulation modes support signal logging for signals connected to root-level inports and outports. For a description of limitations of signal logging using SIL and PIL modes, see Signal Logging in the Embedded Coder documentation.
You cannot log local data in Stateflow Truth Table blocks.
