The 2007 MathWorks Automotive Conference was held June 19 – 20 at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn in Dearborn, Michigan. During this two-day event over 500 registered attendees representing every major automotive and supplier organization attended a series of presentations, master classes and demonstrations on the latest technologies for implementing Model-Based Design.
Conference Highlights
- In the keynote address,
Dr. David E. Cole, Chairman of the Center for Automotive Research,
shared his insights on strategies for the North American industry,
as well as global trends.
- Case studies by engineers from Toyota, Ford, VW, and others describe their development of production ECU software using Model-Based Design for powertrain, chassis, safety systems, body electronics, and infotainment.
- MathWorks sessions on new
MATLAB and Simulink technology included Design for Six
Sigma in MATLAB, Best Practices for Establishing a Model-Based
Design Culture, and Architecting Embedded Software.
- ChallengeX team professors and students from
Ohio State University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology discussed
their work and show off their vehicles.
- Master classes, taught
by MathWorks engineering staff, included Advanced Programming Techniques
in MATLAB, Modeling Multidomain Physical Systems in Simulink, Production
Code Generation, and Verification and Validation.
- Exhibits and demos showcased
third-party products based on MATLAB, Simulink, and Real-Time Workshop.
