Why do hidden windows appear in the background of my listbox while using GUIDE in MATLAB 6.5 (R13)?
I have a GUI with 12 or more listboxes. When I open my GUI, the text from windows behind my gui shows up in the background of the list box and other UICONTROLs. Changing renderers does not help.

This is a limitation in MATLAB 6.5 (R13) with the number of listboxes allowed in a figure.
To work around the problem, try deleting the object in GUIDE and recreating it. Some customers have reported that this was successful, but it is not guaranteed to resolve the problem.
Another workaround you can try is to place a frame behind all other objects. If you have axes in your GUI, see the related solutions section at the bottom of this page.
Note that if you move the figure off the monitor and bring it back, the UICONTROLs show up correctly. However, changing focus from and to the window again will cause the problem again.
