I am trying to install the MATLAB Compiler Runtime (MCR) 7.8 (R2008a) on my machine. However, when I run the MCRInstaller.exe and click on the "Install" button, I receive the following error message in windows:
The files for installation requirement VCREDIST_X86 could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or cancelled download
I am using the Windows Vista operating system with administrative privileges.

The Visual Studio Redistributable package is installed automatically during the installation of the MCR. The reason for this installation failure could be the presence of "Symantec Endpoint Protection" or other anti-virus software installed on your system.
If this error message is encountered, try disabling anti-virus software for the duration of the installation.
