Mat lab student version 2012a the windows suddenly close (Mac OS Mavericks)

1 view (last 30 days)
I am running Matlab 2012a Student Version on a Mac (Mavericks OS). Recently, before I installed Mavericks, I have been unable to 1) run a package that I had been able to run; 2) save a new script, but I'm able to save a new function; 3) open a folder that I would like to set the path to (File > Set Path > Add Folders with Subfolders). These things seem to act up when I am in the MATLAB folder. If I have my current folder set to a "higher" folder or a "lower" folder, the problem doesn't seem to take place. This was temporarily resolved, because I created a new folder MATLAB, emptied. However, when I bring the files necessary to run the package, those things happen. Is it possible, that I have a "corrupted file" in one of my lower folders that causes this? If so, how do I locate/identify it? If its not, are there other possible causes?
Any feedback is helpful! Thank you!
