M-File (fitness function) for pid tuning using genetic algorithm

I am trying to tune pid controller for the control of the process in a conical tank using genetic algorithm.In order to do that i used gatool, but it requires m-file to be given as a fitness function.Can anyone help me to write the m-file declaring the necessary pid parameters in the m-file to give it as a fitness function for the gatool.
