Meshing together surfaces creaqted using curve fitting toolbox

1 view (last 30 days)
hello,
I would like to ask if anyone has any experience or advice regarding joining up surfaces created from the curve fitting toolbox.
Basically, the data I have is too large to create a surface all in one go so it need to be split into several sections to allow for surface fitting. The problem I have is when it comes to fitting these surfaces back together.
Is it a fair assumption if I say that, should the data overlap sufficiently, that the edges of the surfaces to be joined up can be assumed sufficiently similar.
Or,
Do I need to perform another level of fitting to get the edges to be identical?
Thanks, Andrea

We can't really tell without seeing your data. What function are you fitting to the data?
I would guess your whole curve fitting goal is ill-posed as you're trying to fit analytical surfaces to a big surface for which no analytical solution exists. What is your end goal?
