HOW TO INTERFACE ARDUINO UNO WITH SERVO MOTOR?

To control servo motor using ARDUINO UNO board with ATMEGA328, PWM signal is necessory. Is Separate matlab code is required to generate PWM signal or is it genarate PWM signal in the pins 6-11 directly depending upon my inputs? Also is it necessary to define particular input pin for sending input in the serial communication code
