Basic Programming with Matlab Resources?

Hi -

My son is a junior in HS, going into engineering in college. He really needs to learn programming, and since his school doesn't offer CS, I'm it. I've taught basic and intermediate CS before (C, C++, Java) at HS & College, but I'm looking for some good recommendations on curricular materials/books that use Matlab as a vehicle for teaching programming.
