How to use datacursor to show non plotted data from same data-set

I want to use datacursor to show information related to specific plotted points but which is not plotted upon the figure itself.
I have a large set of rain gauge data, each rain gauge has a specific reference number, location name, record length, and coordinates of longitude and latitude coordinates. I am plotting the longitude and latitude coordinates on a figure and want to be able to show the other information related to each gauge when I click on its point within the plot. All the variables are stored in their own columns within a single data-set 'A'.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s possible. See Interacting with Graphed Data and Data Cursor — Displaying Data Values Interactively. I’ve no experience with either, but they look interesting.
