How to pass measurements/variables from MATLAB to LabVIEW?

I have an established LabVIEW framework that allows me to run tests and save the data to csv files. I now have to use MATLAB for the same tests, but would like to keep my current LabVIEW program to save, organize, and push into a database.

I've been playing with ActiveX commands but I am not quite sure if this is the right track. Could anyone that has been in this scenario be able to give some guidance?
