Here is screenshot of what is happenening.
After I click save, I go to open and I don't see my file anywhere.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Right - so Anthony's steps are add text to new file 'Untitled2', select 'Save--> Save As...' from the menu, press the Save button and...the title of the file remains as 'Untitled2' indicating that the save failed (for some reason).

The only other files visible are both ‘toolbox’ functions. Probably not permitted to save to those directories, the reason the save failed.
Switching to Anthony’s user directory would probably solve the problem.

If it’s still open in the MATLAB Editor and this is the first time you’ve saved it, it may not show up in the MATLAB Editor ‘Open’ options. If you want to be sure it was saved, open the relevant directory in a different application. Your file should be there. (I have a Win 8 PC, so I can only speak from my own experiences in this. It seems to be specific to the MATLAB Editor. I would use File Explorer — or the Mac equivalent — to look for it, but a text editor or similar application might work as well.)
