Do you have a 'Matlab diary' equivalent in C or other interpreter language like TCL?

MATLAB provides a built-in diary function that records command window output, whereas other interpreted languages like C or TCL do not have a direct equivalent.However, one can create a similar functionality by implementing it by themselves, using file I/O operations. Languages like TCL and R have a similar function, but it captures only the output generated by the code and not the commands themselves.
