Problem automatically starting Matlab on Linux

1 view (last 30 days)
I need Matlab to automatically start when I start up my computer (running under Debian 32bit). To do so, I created a .desktop file in ~/.config/autostart.
When the system starts, the Matlab's splash screen appears, but then it seems to crash, as no display appears. Matlab is not even in the processes list. My version is R2011b
Have anyone encountered the same problem?
Thanks for your help!
