Hi everyone,
I'm not sure how should i approach this problem. I need to deconvolve a gaussian (which represent the instrumental degrading function on the spectrum) from a spectrum.
The gaussian function can be extracted with no problem from the spectrum it self- the region around x=0 in the spectrum represent the instrumental convolved function.
Say i have extracted the convolved function. How should i proceed to deconvolve it from the spectrum?
*should i normalize the spectrum and (or) the convolved function? as can be seen in the spectrum image enclosed here, the gaussian is several order of magnitude higher than the rest of the spectrum.
*What about the x axis dimensions of the extracted convolved function?
*is there any artifacte i should be aware of, implementing the 'deconv()' function?
Many thanks Eran
