Error Readings when load different version Matlab

Dear All,
I have a problem with my error reading data.
I have a code MAT-file generated in Matlab 5.0, but at the moment i'm using Matlab 7.10.0. When i want to load the MAT-file (Matlab 5.0), the command tells me "Unable to read file".
So, what should i do?
Please help me.
