MATLAB Activation Error -2,003: Invalid Machine ID

1 view (last 30 days)
I have installed MATLAB through setup.exe. Not only does the InstallforMacOSX not work (it just bounces on the dock and then disappears), after having to install MATLAB through WINE, MATLAB will not let me activate my license.
I have gone to "manage licenses" and added my Machine ID using ifconfig en1 | grep ether (because the OSX is past 10.8.1...it's 10.9.4).
And it still says I have an invalid machine id. I even downloaded the license for the machine id when en0 is run. That did not work either.
The licenses were in the correct folder as well. I am 100% sure the issue is on the part of MATLAB as opposed to Macintosh because I tried the same procedure on a windows laptop.
Furthermore I am out of license transfers so I am just left with the one on my mac and it is no working. It is especially odd, because I was able to get MATLAB on my old computer with the same license and it worked fine. I deactivated that license after it died, but it is honestly shocking how difficult it is to activate the license now.
Any solutions/suggestion?
