"Out of memory error", but there's enought memory

Hi All!
16G memory. win7 64 + Matlab 2011a 64.
>>tst=zeros(100000);
??? Out of memory. Type HELP MEMORY for your options.
>>memory

Not a bug but a common mistake that even with years of experience sometimes you cannot avoid.

Are you sure (troll):
(100 000^2) * 8 bytes = 74.505806 gigabytes
You're creating a matrix not a vector.
Use:
zeros(1e5,1)
