Using property editor for undocked figure

Hi,
In R2014a, I prefer to work with undocked figures, to avoid annoying changes in size when I dock them. Unfortunately, then, I can not use anymore the Property Editor... When I let appear the Property Editor, from an undocked figure, this one directly docks (which I do not want), and if I undock again the figure, the property editor no longer applies to this figure...
It is in fact exactly the same problem as here (where there is no solution stated...)
It should be possible to cancel this behaviour (I could enjoy the desired behaviour with same Matlab version before some undetermined action.....), but how ?
Thanks a lot,
J. Duriez

Can you not do what you want in the Property Editor and then undock it again afterwards? That i what I always do, I never keep figures docked, but I have never been inconvenienced by them docking when I use the Property Editor.

I had almost the same Problem. After some undetermined action the figure's size wasn't the one I originally fixed after undocking from the Property Editor. After closing all and restarting MATLAB it worked again. Still the size changes when I need the editor to insert for example some caption. But when I undock now the figure resizes again to the size I adjusted before. Afterwards you can adjust the position of the inserted captions without docking to the Property Editor.
