How to get multiple peak value outputs using singular value decomposition SVD..?

Hi..
My input is a 1XN matrix .. i was supposed to apply svd and was expected to get five peak values as output. but wat i am getting is a single peak value... guys pls tell me how to perform SVD to get multiple peak values as outputs instaed of the matrices or single value as output
