how to plot rolling radius difference function for rail wheel contact?

1 view (last 30 days)
Hi,
I have the data points that represent the profile of the rail and wheel. What I want to plot is how the rolling radius difference changes for a given lateral disaplacement of the wheel set. In other words I want to plot the RRD( Rolling Radius Difference ) wrt to lateral displacement. I had attached the data points file for both Rail and wheel. Hope this information helps.
Thanks.
Sai Prakash.

r0 being the radius of the wheel when the wheel set is symmetric to both the rails
rL being the rolling radius of left wheel
rR being the rolling radius of right wheel
yw is the lateral displacement of the wheel set
O is the center of mass

Thanks, that makes sense. If your question is now to compute lateral displacement of RRD, I suggest you google "how to calculate Rolling Radius Difference and lateral displacement" or search for it in Google Scholar. I'm sure these equations are described previously.
If you already have the data and need help plotting it, let me know where you're stuck.
