get and set have stopped working in R14b Mac

Hi folks
I've upgraded my Mac to Yosemite and installed MATLAB R14b. Several m files that worked perfectly well before now don't work properly because functions set and get with basic GUIs simply don't do anything now. Basic stuff. Driving me crazy.
Any ideas?

Can you post a simple example, pointing out the expected and actual behavior you are experiencing?
