Need inspiration for charachterizing signals (geometry)

1 view (last 30 days)
Hi,
I want to differentiate between signals that follow more or less same route. However, when plotting the signals you can tell there are differences. An example of four signals is found below. I am looking for parameters that will quantitatively make a distinction between the signals. Some examples include: -Area, -Perimeter, -Roundness (using isoperimetric inequality), -Transforming to polar coordinates or frequency and checking result,...
That's basically what I can think of for now. Maybe you have another suggestion for what I can use?

There are two functions I’m aware of that can help you: polyarea and boundary. I believe boundary is new to R2014b, but there may be others such as convhull that can probably come close enough to approximating the boundary of your areas.
