Why can't imaq show me my camera's available formats?

1 view (last 30 days)
I've been trying to talk to a microscope camera (AmScope MU500-CK) using imaq with little success. When I open imaqtool, I can see the camera heading as: AmCam (winvideo-2). Under the camera heading, the only available format is given as: RGB24_0x0 (default). This is strange since the camera is able to capture images in 640x480, 1280x960, and 2592x1944. When I try to use this RGB24_0x0 format, I get a "no duh" error message saying
"Unable to create a VIDEOINPUT object for selected format. The error was: Error using videoinput (line 379). Width and Height values must be greater than 0."
My questions is, why is it that imaq can apparently see the camera, but can't register the proper formats for the camera. The software that came with the camera is able to display images just fine in it's native formats. Is there somewhere I should obviously be looking in the drivers?
Thank you!

Were you ever able to figure out the solution to this problem? I'm having similar issues with an AmScope MU035 microscope camera.
