Find the transfer function from the response

Hi guys, i'm new to Matlab and my instructor gave us an assignment to find the transfer function represented by:

d/dt(c(t)) + 2c(t) = r(t)

then plot the response c(t) to an input r(t)=u(t)

Dale, do you need to do the assignment in MATLAB? If not, you are probably much faster doing by hand with a piece of paper. By the way, what is u(t)? A step input?
