Issue on installing Data Acquisition Toolbox

6 views (last 30 days)
Hello, I’ve got some issue on installing Data Acquisition Toolbox of Matlab. I’ve used Matlab and Instrument Control Toolbox so far and I needed Data Acquisition Toolbox additionally. So I’ve got the license of it and installed it. At first, I installed just only Data Acquisition Toolbox without uninstalling Matlab and Instrument Control Toolbox. But Data Acquisition Toolbox didn’t show up on the list of Toolboxes that I can see from ‘start’ – ‘Toolboxes’ in Matlab(Only I can see ‘Instrument Control Toolbox’). So I uninstalled whole matlab and reinstalled it including Data Acquisition Toolbox, but it still doesn’t show up on that list. I used command 'ver' to check the list of program installed and there's no Data Acquisition Toolbox either. But the wierd thing is that when I try to uninstall the matlab in control panel, Data Acquisitino Toolbox is included in the list.
I’ve checked license of Data Acquisition Toolbox with command ‘license('checkout','Data_Acq_Toolbox')’ and it shows 1 that means I’ve got license.
Is it supposed be not on the list or is there a problem on it? If there is, what should I do?

Your description sound like this should work. One wild idea, I have: Could it be, you run a release / OS / architecture where there is not DAQ Tbx available?

I'm running it on Window7 64bit. Fortunatedly, I've got an answer from Matlab support and they told me as below.
This is an issue caused by the Windows new security feature Data Virtualization which redirects file write operations to the user's profile. When you install a new toolbox, the path to the toolbox is added to the MATLAB pathdef.m file. Since MATLAB is generally installed in "Program Files," Data Virtualization prevents you from accessing the changes to the pathdef.m file.
I've solved this issue and thanks for your reply.
