License manager support both MATLAB R2014b and R2013a?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have a network license server(FLEXnet v11.11.0.0) serving MATLAB R2013a running on a CentOS 5 machine currently. How can I set up the license server so that it can serve another CentOS 6 machine with MATLAB R2014b at the same time?
According to web instruction: "A license server that is serving multiple releases of MATLAB must use the version of FLEXnet shipped with the latest release of MATLAB being served."
I tried upgrading the license manager to R2014b(FLEXnet v11.11.1.2) but MATLAB R2013a on CentOS 5 machine cannot obtain the license.

It looks like you did the right thing. you have the current version of FLEXnet (and the MLM vendor daemon) on the server and up and running. In case you are able to check out and use R2014b, that is a proof it was successful.
The one thing I can imagine is that you need to update the license file on the clients using R2013a. Typically, you would use the "USE_SERVER" syntax, but if not, you need to change the license file.
If that also doesn't help, please provide the error message you get with the R2013a installation.
