Hi all! I have recently (re)installed matlab 2012b on my macbook pro. Im running Yosemite 10.10.1.
I am sure everyone is familiar with this message " You can’t use this version of the application “MATLAB_2012b” with this version of OS X." and before everyone gets mad and tells me there is a patch,...... Downloaded it......Installed it..... Still no good.
After doing research this is what I have done to try and solve this issue.
1) up dated software for mac
2)went to the following website and downloaded java for mac and installed.
3)went to this website and downloaded the file for the java environment.
jre-8u25-macosx-x64.dmg
4) read somewhere that matlab doesn't work with java RE 8. so deleted it using the instructions on this website https://www.java.com/en/download/help/mac_uninstall_java.xml
5) created the ALL POWERFUL ALIAS. the workaround works, so I assume the patch works....
But does anyone know how to fix this problem so I don't have to use the alias? Maybe I still don't have the right version of java installed?
