choosing between two concurrent licenses

I have an interesting problem. We have several Matlab concurrent classroom licenses used by different departments all running on one license server each license has a different suit of tool boxes. Since each department are on different subnets I have been able to use an opt file to control which departments can access the licenses. This has been working great.
My problem is one of the departments has another Matlab concurrent research license which is currently housed on another license server which I want to add to the classroom license server. Currently the users that want to use the research license run a script that uses a different license file to points to the research license server. By adding the research license to the classroom license server I can't think of a way to choose the license.
My questions are
1. Is there a way to specify the license number in the license file? Current license file contains SERVER license_server_name INTERNET=IP_address port USE_SERVER
2. is there a way to use more then one port number in a single server?
