Trying to open trial version for first time and get message unable to contact Matlab

1 view (last 30 days)
I have turned off firewall as the support article suggests but still nothing happens. I have tried to choose the offline option but do not have a license number or activation key. Would prefer to work off line than have to turn my firewall off every time. I have gone back in followed the normal activation path thru, got the licence number, but when I go back thru the offline path and enter the licence number there it comes up as invalid.

Not sure what the (5xx) number means. Suspect its a US help number, which isn't much help in the UK. Not very promising for a trial version. Think I might say I've trialed it and it failed and look for other options. Maybe even go back to my QR decomposition I was trying to develop with excel. Gave up because of its slow convergence but there are few options I could try. Might be faster than loading Matlab. Not your fault. Left feed back to suggest they develop a plug and play version.

Peter, if you go to MATLAB's "Contact us" link and pick the UK from the drop down list, you'll find the offices in Cambridge and Glasgow: http://www.mathworks.com/company/aboutus/contact_us/?country_sort=UK&geoloc=United%20Kingdom They should be able to help you. If not, just make an international call. But I think the office in Cambridge or Glasgow will be able to help. Good luck. None of us here can really help with installation or (especially) license issues, you need an official Mathworks employee for that.
