shape feature extraction

I am doing detection of objects in x-ray images and am trying to write matlab code for shape descriptors. If anyone could please help with the code for the following that, it would really really help me out. Thanks

See the regionprops function in the Image Processing Toolbox, it can compute various shape characteristics of regions, such as area, perimeter, principal axes, etc.
