How to aquire Images with a Nikon Reflex Camera

Hello,

I want to take pictures with a Nikon D7100 controlled by a Matlab skript. I tried to use the Image Aquisition Toolbox, but it does not recognize the camera. I also tried to install several hardware add-ons but it doesnt work either.

Can one of you give me a hint how that could be managed? There are some freeware softwares which allow to control the camera via computer. This works for me. Therefore I thougth it should be possible with matlab as well.
