How to dynamically colour certain cells in a uitable according to what a user selects from popupmenus in a gui

Hi all, I'm a final year electrical and computer engineering student and for my final year project I have to calculate the actual data carrying capacity of LTE's air interface. It's supposed to be a teaching aid to students so I have to add in visulaizations so they can see just how resource elements are being allocated. So, what I would like to do is have a uitable where certain cells can be highlighted based on parameters selected by the user in the main gui. Thanks in advance! :)
