My MATLAB r2014b trial version cannot run on win 8.1. It is background processing but just don't open up.

I got a R2014b trial and successfully installed it. When I click it open, a dialog appears requesting my account and password. However after that nothing happens and from the task manager I found it is only "background processing". I tried a few solutions online (not the exactly same question but also win 8) but none worked. Anyone have experienced this?
