MCR installation issue on Windows 8.

After running the MCR R2012a (7.17) installer from here, it does not appear in "add or remove program" or "Program Files", it's as if the installation never occurred. The installer self-extract the files and then proceed to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, and after that nothing. I tried rerunning it, the same thing happens.
The problem is similar to this thread.
Please advice. Thank you.

Just run the 32-bit version of the MCR installer.
