I have developed a MATLAB's App Designer based GUI for neurostimulation and would like to access the neurostimulator hardware through the same. How can access an external software (neurostimulators software) from the GUI.
I feel its a very easy thing to do but i went through a lot of documentation and could not figure out what to do in this case. Any help?

Hi Sushant,
I'd say it depends on the interfaces of the specific software.
If the software can be run from a console, I would use the system command to run the console command.
If there is any C++, Java, .NET, ... interface, you can use this from MATLAB as well.
Best wishes,
Harald

Hello Harald,
Thank you for your response.
I am trying to access an SDK for a neurostimulator module, which has .dll and .mex64 files in it. I am unsure about how to use my GUI and the API callbacks to access the said SDK.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for me.
Best Regards,
Sushant Joshi

Hi Sushant,
MEX files can be called like regular MATLAB files. The SDK hopefully comes with some sort of documentation on the input and output arguments.
To call DLLs, I'd try loadlibrary / calllib / unloadlibrary.
Best wishes,
Harald
