matlab executable error popup

I created a matlab executable and occasionally the function I am running diverges and the function reports an error. Normally this would show up in the matlab command prompt window, but when you convert everything to an executable, this is displayed as a popup which is quite annoying.
The people using this executable are quite annoyed by the error popup, so is there any way to suppress this?
