16bit application error...not campatible version of matlab...

What can be the problem? Cant install Matlab version-2013a.....it says 16 bit application and not compatible with 64 bit of windows....I have 64 bit windows 7 service pack 1 installed in my laptop...even i have installed the software when i was using windows 8...problem started when i came to windows 7....

This has nothing to do with matlab.

64-bit windows cannot run 16 bit application.

Whatever application you're trying to use, it's time to retire it. The last 16-bit version of Windows was Windows 3.1. Windows 95 and later were all 32-bit (but could still run 16-bit apps).
