subtract very small value

when I subtract a very value small from another value. the answer remain the same as if I did not subtract any value for example if I subtract 1.9512e-005 from 1.5 the answer is 1.5 ...how do I enforce the matlab to output the correct answer?

Use the format function. You may want to use format longE.
