can we run HDL coder without testbench??

hi I have a matlab code,but I dont have testbench for it or can't write testbench for it ,because its part of another code and its not complete. did anybody know can we run HDL coder without testbench file because in some step you should add the testbench file. thanks

You can generate HDL code from a design with no testbench, but you will not be able to perform any validation of that code with MATLAB. One of the features of a testbench is to supply the type information for the inputs and outputs of your design. See the documentation on Primary Function Input Specification for details on how to do this without a testbench.

you mean that if I use the testbench, i can be sure that the code is converted correct?
