What happens when I change computer (laptop): how do I transfer the software from one PC to the other? Do I need to "deactivate" the software on one PC before installing it to another one? How?

You can download from their website, or copy over the installer from the first computer. Then install it. If it works and you don't need the first computer anymore, deactivate it from the first computer using the Start button method. If you're on Windows, there is a Start menu item to deactivate: Start->All Programs->Matlab->R2015a->Deactivate MATLAB r2015A .

You can install a Home license on two computers, so it is not mandatory to deactivate on the one before you install on the second. But you should deactivate when you know the transfer has worked properly.

Thank you@Walter Robertson. I do not think this works for trial versions?
