how to change graphing bounds in ezplot

It says that if one inputs "ezplot(y,[1,2,3,4])". 1 will be the x min, 2 the x max, 3 the y min, and 4 the y max and the y function will be graphed.
But when I put in "ezplot(y,[1,2,3,4])" it errors out. y is defined symbolically as y=sin(t), t is also a symbol.
I can get the bounds to change in the x direction but not in both the x and y direction.
