Start Matlab from Photoshop

Hi! I have a system for segmenting/counting cells in microscopy images that runs in Matlab however my users want to be able to first load the images in Photoshop and them see the segmentation results also in Photoshop. I know that it's possible to use Photoshop from Matlab but I couldn't find a way to do the opposite. Does anyone knows if it's possible to launch Matlab from Photoshop? (BTW I've asked the same question in the Adobe forum without success). Thank you.
