Depending on your type of license, you can install MATLAB on from two to four computers simultaneously. If you have already exceeded that limit, you have to inactivate one of the installations. You can do that online. If you’re logged in under your license, in the upper right of this page your name should be displayed. Click on the down arrow to the right, then click on ‘My Account’. Then click on ‘View my licenses’ and ‘Activation and Installation’. Click on a license to see the details. On the right is a small radio button that says ‘Deactivate’. That is one way to do it, and the only way if you do not have access to the computer you want to deactivate MATLAB on. (On Windows computers, the ‘Activation Label’ is your disk Volume Serial Number. To get this, in MATLAB in the Command Window, type:
system('vol')
For further information, go to Installation and Activation for Users for details. See specifically Deactivate an Installation if you need to do that before you install MATLAB on a new computer.
