DataCursorMode not compatible with deployed application?

1 view (last 30 days)
I use MATLAB's DataCursorMode to generate custom tooltips in a user interface (created with guide). This works fine when executed from the source code within MATLAB. However, I need a compiled version of the program for deployment to users. Everything works fine except the DataCursorMode. It displays the following error:
Error in custom datatip string function
I have a toggle in the user interface to switch DataCursorMode back on if it becomes disabled due to interference of other plot manipulation tools. This doesn't help in the compiled program.
Is it possible the MATLAB Runtime is incompatible with DataCursorMode? Any workarounds available?

Hello,
I just tried to compile and deploy a script containing DataCursorMode and the deployed application worked just fine. Can you give a detailed description of your workflow with a sample script maybe?

Ok, figured it out. I used a symbolic math statement to generate some of my tooltip data. Apparently these functions can't be compiled. When I stripped that part, DataCursorMode worked fine again in the deployed app.
Thanks for the replies.

That is correct, Symbolic Math Toolbox is not eligible to be used with MATLAB Compiler.
