Inverse stationary wavelet transform (iswt) slow compared to stationary wavelet transform?

I ran an analysis of my code using profile, and found that iswt takes significantly longer than the forward swt (more than a factor of 10). Bior3.3 was the wavelet used, and there were 8 decomposition levels. Any ideas on what accounts for the difference in execution time?
